Kaua‘i Civil, LLC is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm, based on the island of Kaua‘i, offering services statewide, Providing both Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture allows us to creatively collaborate to produce seamlessly designed sites.

Nicole M.N. Swanson, PLA, ASLA

President + Principal

As President of Kaua‘i Civil, LLC, Nicole Swanson, PLA, brings extensive experience in both public and private projects to the team. She takes a place-based approach to every project, ensuring that each design is functional, beautiful and rooted in Hawai‘i’s unique sense of place.

Nicole was born and raised in Kona, Hawai‘i. After graduating from Kamehameha Schools Kāpalama in 2012, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University in New York. Desiring to contribute to her home of Hawai‘i, Nicole began her landscape architecture career in private consulting in Honolulu, where she enjoyed managing a variety of public and private projects across the state. After starting a family, Nicole joined Kaua‘i Civil, LLC to lead their landscape architecture branch. In her design approach, Nicole values the human-environment relationship and believes healthier landscapes make for healthier people and communities.

Devin R. Swanson, PE

Vice President + Principal

Devin Swanson, PE, serves as the Vice President of Kaua‘i Civil, LLC, leading the firm’s civil engineering division. Guided by a vision for excellence and a commitment to quality, his extensive experience has been instrumental in the company’s growth and in ensuring that every project meets the highest professional standards.

Born on the island of Kaua‘i and raised in the town of Kīlauea, Devin began his academic journey at Kaua‘i Community College before transferring to the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he remained in Honolulu and worked in private consulting as a Civil Engineer. Though he valued his time on O‘ahu and the experience it provided, the magic of the Garden Isle was calling him back home.

Devin’s experience includes the planning and design of water and wastewater systems, site development, and grading and drainage improvements. He has worked on both public and private projects across every county in the state, bringing a broad and well-rounded perspective to the firm’s engineering work.

Faith Lehua Blalock

Civil EIT

Performing project engineering and coordination Faith Lehua Blalock, EIT works in collaboration with clients to ensure projects are successfully completed per engineering specifications, budgets and timelines.

Faith is born and raised in Kapahi, Kaua‘i. She graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kāpalama in 2018 and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from Brown University in 2022. With the desire to bring her education home, Faith has since returned to Kaua‘i and sought work that allows her to serve ‘āina and people. Faith joined Kaua‘i Civil’s team to build her capacity as she works towards becoming a licensed engineer.
